On Saturday, June 7 Oldham Athletic's Community Trust team were involved in Oldham Play Action Groups' Adventure Play launch at Leesbrook Nature Park.

At the launch there were various different activities from arts and crafts to marshmallow toasting and mask-making. Throughout the day Latics provided a variety of fun games and activities for the young people and families to take part in.

The 'Fun and Games with Latics' scheme focuses on getting young people back to playing traditional games like Hide and Seek and Tag or using play equipment to have fun.  This contributes to encouraging young people to remain physically active without participating in structured sports coaching.

It was a great day which saw families from parents to young children enjoy themselves through playing fun games and taking part in all the activities available at the launch.

Oldham Athletic Community Trust will now be delivering a program of fun and game activities across different areas within the borough working in partnership with local agencies throughout this summer and onwards.

Community Trust chief Colin Moore said: "The new scheme has been a fantastic success so far and I'd like to thank everyone who has got involved.

"Hopefully we can continue this throughout the summer, and we have some great new initiatives in the pipeline."
