SHERIDAN: DO IT FOR THE FANS
John Sheridan has called on his players to beat Cheltenham for the fans tomorrow.
Latics have only pride to play for, but their visitors travel north seeking a win that could potentially secure their League One status for another season.
Sheridan's side have been strong at home in the latter half of the campaign, winning seven League games since January 28.
And now the Boundary Park chief has tasked his players with finishing the home campaign on a high in front of their own supporters.
He said: "I want us to finish in as high a position as possible and that's what we'll be trying to do.
"We must take the game to Cheltenham because I want to give the fans something to cheer about.
"It's a game they have to win and let's hope there's plenty of entertainment and plenty of goals -- but all in the Cheltenham net."
Sheridan added: "Cheltenham are struggling at the bottom and have everything to play for so it'll be a very tough game.
"I want to see the same attitude we showed during the Leyton Orient, and if we can find that then we'll have a decent chance.
"I want to go out on a winning note at home more than anything, and we will go into the Crewe game a week on Saturday looking to win that one as well."
