Young goalkeeper Josh Bell has put pen to paper on a one-year professional contract.

Bell, 18, was informed he would be offered terms in the summer and signed on the dotted line after returning for pre-season training.

A product of the Boundary Park youth set-up, Bell was a regular at reserve level last season and also featured on the bench for the senior team on several occasions.

He is likely to be Athletic's third-choice stopper behind last season's number one Mark Crossley and recent acquisition Greg Fleming.

Scotland under-21 international Fleming - rated as one of Scotland's best young keepers - joined Latics last month after being made redundant by Gretna.
